There is a Season for Everything

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under Heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones
A time to embrace, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
A time of war, and a time of peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Spring always reminds me of new beginnings. It is amazing how in the winter the world around us stays inside, lays dormant, hibernates, yields to growth, and freezes to the core. Then, suddenly with no warning, unexpectedly, regrowth, renewal, buds of change, green grass, and a new season has begun. Just makes me want to take a deep breath and sigh with thankfulness.

Not only are there physical seasons of change, but also emotional, relational, and spiritual. When I step back and look at my life, and the lives of many very close to me I can see that there have been some hard seasons. Seasons of sadness, hurt, uncertainty, and hopelessness. These are not the seasons that are fun to talk about. These are the seasons that we wish would never come. Many feel stuck in the cold chill of winter unable to escape from the pain. Unable to see the buds of life that lay ahead in the coming days.

There is hope. In our life there are many seasons of change. But, unless we are willing to step outside and accept the changes taking place we will not be able to experience the new season. He makes all things new, in His time. Renewal, restoration, and refreshing... that's what Jesus can bring.

So for me, and all those who have experienced the not so fun seasons, this is my prayer:

"Create in us a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within us" (Psalms 51:10), Bring renewal, restoration, and refresh us. Open our eyes to the blessings you have given. Let us walk boldly with faith that you are our provider in every season. May our lives be a testimony of your faithfulness and love.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Welcome to this new season we call Spring! May the beautiful colors and sounds remind you of His beauty and love! But above all things created, you are His masterpiece.

With love,
Wendy
